No - and we don't position it that way.
Bakuchiol and retinol are different molecules. Retinol is a vitamin A derivative with a much larger body of clinical evidence behind it.
Bakuchiol has its own emerging evidence base and is particularly interesting for its antioxidant properties and potential to improve the appearance of photoaged skin.
Is Bakuchiol as effective as retinol?
There isn't enough evidence to make that claim.
One clinical study found comparable improvements in certain measures of wrinkles and hyperpigmentation after 12 weeks, but this does not mean bakuchiol and retinol are equivalent or interchangeable.
We believe bakuchiol is worth using for what it is - not because it needs to imitate retinol.
